Are you a homeschooling family or a parent who would like to help your child’s teacher present a unit on Korea? Since we plan to homeschool our son, largely so we can include Korean language, geography and history, so I was very excited to find this resource.
The Korea Society, a private nonprofit located in New York, has curriculum resources on their Web site with lessons ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. They can be found at www.koreasociety.org/k-12_resources/.
Once you’re on the K-12 Resources page, you can find the lessons divided by grade level under the “By Publication Title” link. The lessons are in PDF format and available for download at no charge.
One of the elementary lessons is planning a trip to Korea. The kids get to make passports and plan out what they’ll see. Other lessons talk about folk tales, songs, games, and culture. Honestly, I can get lost in this site and all it offers. I’m excited about delving in as we begin homeschooling in the fall.
